Why the hell did I start a blog about music? There are so many billions of blogs about music.
I like music a lot. I like reading about it, watching documentaries on it, listening to it, playing it, writing it, singing it in the shower, studying it, and I REALLY like talking about it.
When people ask me what kind of music I’m into or what kind of music I play, I freeze up and go into an imaginary wonderland where all of my favorite bands are playing at once and it sounds beautiful. A personal super group has come together and orchestrated the most moving music inside of my head. I can’t quite put my finger on what it sounds like, but I know I love it and this is all happening while someone is standing in front of me waiting for an answer. I can’t do justice for what’s going on at the time, and to try to quickly blurt out something about how a perfect super group of all of my favorite bands have orchestrated the perfect song that I can’t quite fully imagine but know I love would be to reveal a level of eccentricity that I’m not comfortable sharing with everyone. Only people who are for some curious enough to visit this blog.
I’ve been avoiding the music description area on my MySpace page for some time now. I mean what am I supposed to say? Who wants to read that much text in such a narrow column?
When I’m listening to music and hear something I like, I get really excited about it and feel like I have to call someone, e-mail someone or IM a bunch of links and information until I get it out of my system. I love my friends, by the way. They’re great listeners. I hope this blog frees up some of their time
